A Few Cakes From This Week

A sweet sixteen cake all in pink and grey for this very special occasion!

For a travel themed wedding shower we made these two antique hat boxes with travel stamps all over it and finished with gold painted details to add shine and interest to this lovely cake.

Ah, for a body building enthusiast what do you make?  A cake with weights on the top and names of muscles to develop all the way around.  Even body builders eat cake son their birthday don't they Brian?

Summer Is Almost Here

After a very long and tiring Canadian winter we decided to start thinking about spring and summer with these new cake designs (actually back in February but we forgot to post them).

Juicy lemons with lots of green and a hint of pink.  This is a 6" round cake and serves 10 - 12 guests or even more if you cut really carefully!

The strawberry cake is a cool summer classic with white flowers and blue accents...does this remind you of lazy days beside the pool?

Also a 6" round cake as above and are part of our pre-designed collection at $70.00 each.

Princess!

It's been such a busy time at the shop lately that we've not even had time to photograph all our cakes :(

Here is a little sneak preview of a little baby cake that we did last week with a little princess on the top.  The baby is all sugar and edible of course, with a little tutu and a crown made of sugar which we covered in silver leaf and Swarovski crystals.  Too cute!

This was for a Princess themed baby shower.

Bridal Shower Today

Getting ready for a bridal shower in a few moments.  No sandwiches yet, they're in production but tables are ready to groan under the weight of all the goodies we have in store.

Turquoise and Orange

This weeks personal favourite, something that was inspired by a cake that we've done before in pink and turquoise a kind of shabby chic meets Marie Antoinette for a first communion.

Gender Reveal Cake:
The mom-to-be brought us an envelope which had a sealed note from her doctor with the sex of the baby written on it.  We made a cake with the corresponding colour on the inside.  The family are gathering this weekend for a party and to find out all together if it's a boy or a girl.

Tea Pot Shower Cake

A tea party bridal shower calls for a tea pot cake!  Antiqued and hand painted then embellished with pearls and roses and a bow of course.

Spring Baby

Another little baby on a cake, this time with spring blossoms and shiny bubbles and surrounded by sugar lace pieces.  All edible.

Welcome Logan

To welcome Logan into the family this pretty blue and white cake with a tiny little cherub on top.  The little baby can be kept for many years, what a sweet keep sake...no pun intended.

Baby shower cupcake which was accompanied by purple, pink and white frosted cupcakes with little white rosebuds and green leaves, oh so pretty!

Rosy - Revisited

One of our clients fell in love with a little christening cake that we did a while back which we called "Rosy", here it is done all over again.

Pretty Pink Baby Shower Cake

Baby shower cake all cute and pink with 'Rosebuds' as the theme, the tiny sugar baby nestles in a mound of rosebuds and baby's breath, with tiny pink sparkle wings.  The hand painted ribbons and rosebuds are painted with edible paint.

The cake was, of course, pink velvet with raspberry buttercream filling.

Sleepy Baby

This little cake was for a baby shower....of course....what better way to welcome a new baby into a family than to have it sleeping on top of a cake!

Teddy Bear

A cute little teddy bear cake for one of our regular cupcake client's young nephew.

Even the teddy bear is all edible!

Princess Cake

Are you feeling like a princess?  Do you long for those Barbie cakes that you had as a child?  Well here's something to make you smile a 'grown up' doll cake!

Glitz and glamour are very much a part of this cake with just a hint of little girl.  You'll love this cake for a birthday but it would make a wonderful bridal shower cake too.

Garden Bridal Shower - Hamilton

 I love hand painted cakes, and I like to overlay them with three dimensional sugar flowers for extra 'fluff' as my friends call it.  I just can't help myself.

This one tiered version of a cake I've done in three tiers and two tiers in the past was for a bridal shower.
