Purple Week

Well, although this may not look purple in the picture (my photographic skills leave a lot to be desired) it was actually royal purple with a silver bling base and really beautiful blingy lettering on the top.  Such a smart, elegant cake for Geraldos at La Salle Park

Gender reveal cakes are gaining in popularity.  In short, mom-to-be goes and gets her scan after which the doctor writes the sex of the baby on a piece of paper and seals the envelope.  The envelope is then brought into the shop and we take the cake order.  We open the envelope when it's time to bake the cake which we then make either pink or blue.  The outside is decorated with a gender neutral design or both pink and blue with a little message.  The cake is then cut when all the family and friends are together for a gender reveal party.  Cut the cake open to see if you're having a boy or a girl.

Pure white baptism cake....this was a beautiful design for a spring baptism ceremony.  The diamante cross on top was the star of the show, but we also added little pearls all over and a pearl and diamond heart in the middle of the bow.

Ivory and navy flowers for this beautiful wedding cake with a hand painted background.  The Marriott Hotel, Upper James.

Royal purple was chosen for this huge purple and diamond cake at Michaelangelo's Banquet Center in Hamilton.  Here are the five tiers in all their glory, but regrettably without the beautiful backdrop which was just being put into place at the time of delivery.

Pink and Purple Week

This week we had lots of pink and purple cakes, oh so pretty looking around and seeing them all in a group.  Here are just a few of this weeks cakes:
Big purple bow for a birthday cake,  topped off with a big sparkly brooch.

Here`s one for a little girl who likes Minnie.  A first birthday is always a big deal so lots of friends and a pretty cake is always every little girls dream.
And here is the cake, and Sophia, in all it`s glory!

Confirmation cake at Marquis Gardens Ancaster in pink and gold with tiny blossoms.  This was served with 50 matching cupcakes with pink icing and gold `cherries`on top to finish the look.  Oh so pretty!

Baptism Cake

Here's a take that we did for a wedding cake a few months ago, this time with a blingy brooch keepsake right in the middle.  A modern take on a traditional occasion.

Baby Cakes

I just love making cute little baby cakes for my clients.  This client asked for the old fashioned lace effect around the sides of the cake making it so delicate and fine that you'd hardly want to cut into it.  All the decorations are completely edible even the lace.

Rosy - Shower Cake, Hamilton

I just love making these cute little baby cakes with the Anne Geddies style babies on the top.  There are so many different variations to this theme and each one has it's own little character.
This one has lots of white sugar roses and leaves all around with a big pink satin bow, all edible of course, with a little baby with butterfly wings on top.  I just had to do a close up.

Baptism Cake - Teddy Cupcake

A baptism cake for a little boy (of course, it's baby blue) with a little teddy bear perched on a cupcake.  Lots of chocolate on this cake made it look and smell fantastic.

Apple Green and White Roses

Although it's still just as important of an occasion as a big one, a small wedding cake is very difficult to get.  It's not difficult making a small cake, it is difficult to make a small cake that looks as statuesque as a wedding cake.
This small two tiered cake serves around 20 guests (depending on how the cake is cut) and stands 10" high (even higher when you put it on a pedestal of course) and is a beautiful cake for a wedding, christening, baptism, even baby or bridal shower.  The soft apple green is pleasing to the eye and appetizing.

Siena's Baptism Dress

This little white cake was fashioned after Siena's Baptism dress.  It was a pretty dress made from angora (top) with silk (skirt) and had pearls down the front and tied with a white silk bow at the neck.  Sort of like this cake in fact.

Oh my gosh Lynne,

You did SUCH an AMAZING job on Siena's baptismal cake :) I LOVED LOVED LOVED it! It was the second most beautiful thing of the day... obviously Siena is first! I am posting pictures with your contact info on facebook, and also sending via e-mail to friends / family! needless to say I will be coming back to you! in May I have my goddaughters communion so i will want the same thing but with her dress! I will let you know the particulars when I have it!

Your cake blew everyone away! waht an artisic ability you have.

Sincerely yours, Sara

Antonio's Christening

I was privileged to make Natalie's wedding cake,  baby shower cake and Antonio's christening cake (with an order for his first birthday cake in October).
Natalie asked for something with clean lines, a little baby on the top, a blue bow, rosary and a message.
Here is the finished cake which was lemon inside with lemon buttercream, yum.

Blessings for Nathan

A cute little Christening cake for Nathan's civil christening ceremony.  This client a former cake decorating student also, ordered a cake for her twin grandsons two years ago and returned for a cake for the new baby.
White velvet cake with raspberry buttercream.  Swags, buttons and tassles with pearls and blossoms surrounding the little winged sugar baby.
