Pink and Purple Week

This week we had lots of pink and purple cakes, oh so pretty looking around and seeing them all in a group.  Here are just a few of this weeks cakes:

Big purple bow for a birthday cake,  topped off with a big sparkly brooch.

Here`s one for a little girl who likes Minnie.  A first birthday is always a big deal so lots of friends and a pretty cake is always every little girls dream. 

And here is the cake, and Sophia, in all it`s glory!

Confirmation cake at Marquis Gardens Ancaster in pink and gold with tiny blossoms.  This was served with 50 matching cupcakes with pink icing and gold `cherries`on top to finish the look.  Oh so pretty!

Bows, Bows and More Bows

Princess!

It's been such a busy time at the shop lately that we've not even had time to photograph all our cakes :(

Here is a little sneak preview of a little baby cake that we did last week with a little princess on the top.  The baby is all sugar and edible of course, with a little tutu and a crown made of sugar which we covered in silver leaf and Swarovski crystals.  Too cute!

This was for a Princess themed baby shower.

Little Angels - Twins Baby Shower

What a lot of showers this weekend?  This one wasn't a bridal shower but a baby shower and for twins, a boy and a girl.

You can just make out in the picture the little girl has a pink bow in her hair, of course!

A soft white cake with satin sugar bow and tiny hand made babies which will make an adorable keepsake for the mom to be.

Mini Cakes - First Birthday

A last minute order of mini cakes for a little girl's first birthday.  Bows, flowers, a little yellow duck and bubbles were the theme for these little cakes.

We hope Meghan enjoyed smashing her little cake!

Cute Ballerina

For a little girls birthday this pretty ballerina cake with shoes and tutu to match in a beautiful shell pink with a hint of satin.

For Abigale

A christening cake for Abigale - we matched her christening dress which had little flowers around the middle and frills all at the bottom.

Turquoise and Orange

This weeks personal favourite, something that was inspired by a cake that we've done before in pink and turquoise a kind of shabby chic meets Marie Antoinette for a first communion.

Other Cakes This Week

Gender Reveal Cake:
The mom-to-be brought us an envelope which had a sealed note from her doctor with the sex of the baby written on it.  We made a cake with the corresponding colour on the inside.  The family are gathering this weekend for a party and to find out all together if it's a boy or a girl.

This cake was girlie and fun for a large bridal shower with a shoes and purses theme.

Baby Cakes

A Fun first birthday cake for Zander (I made his parent's wedding cake, his baby shower cake and now his first birthday cake).

A baby shower cake for Jesse Blair, a cute mix of soft blues and a little yellow with a tiny baby and white teddies.

Spring Baby

Another little baby on a cake, this time with spring blossoms and shiny bubbles and surrounded by sugar lace pieces.  All edible. 

We also made matching mini cupcakes, how cute is that?

Pink Blossoms - Edgewater Manor, Stoney Creek

The softest pink blossoms with a hand painted green vine background to the cake, such a soft cake that makes you want to tip your head to one side and say ahhhh.

Welcome Logan

To welcome Logan into the family this pretty blue and white cake with a tiny little cherub on top.  The little baby can be kept for many years, what a sweet keep sake...no pun intended.

Tinkerbell Birthday Cake

We are not allowed to make licensed character cakes, but if you are familiar with our work you will know that we do often incorporate ready made licensed figurines into our cakes.  Here is a great example of that. 

We hand painted the cake with vines and rosebuds, then we added twinkle to Tinkerbell's wings as well ass assorted sugar flowers and glittered butterflies.

Cupcake Baby

Baby shower cupcake which was accompanied by purple, pink and white frosted cupcakes with little white rosebuds and green leaves, oh so pretty!

Christening Cake - Baby's Dress

This cake was taken from the style of the christening dress the baby was wearing on the day.  A beautiful shade of blue with lots of frills and a big flower.

Rosy - Revisited

One of our clients fell in love with a little christening cake that we did a while back which we called "Rosy", here it is done all over again.
