All This Week - Valentine's Treats

This week is Valentine's week and because nothing says "I Love You" quite like sweetness and chocolate, we've created some lovely goodies that will help you say just that to your loved ones.
CUPCAKES
Let's start off with cup cakes; this week we're offering Devil's Food Cake with Chocolate Fudge buttercream, Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese buttercream and French Vanilla Cake with Raspberry buttercream.  These are all decorated with edible flowers and of course are made with pure butter.

SHORTBREAD
Here we have our delicious Scottish Shortbread.  Now, if you've never heard of this before or never tried it, I (Lynne) can assure you that you will not have tasted any shortbread as good as this. Having been born and bread in good old England, I know my shortbread and this recipe has the right texture and taste enough to make any Scotsman cry!  Not all shortbreads are created equal you see, it's a long story and a long history.  We serve our's simply in fingers with the traditional fork holes on the top. Once again we only use pure butter for our shortbread and you will definitely taste the difference.

FRENCH MACARONS
By popular demand these little French goodies are back!  We have made them pretty and pink and filled them with a raspberry buttercream, so delicious!
 SUGAR COOKIES
Heart shaped large and small sugar cookies covered in sweetness, and love with 24k gold painted decorations for the ultimate finish we have put these into little gold boxes (1 large or 4 small per box) so that all you have to do is seal it with a kiss.

MINIATURE CAKES
A delightful little cake to share this is a perfect size for two people and looks so pretty in it's individual box, a lovely gift for anyone one that you love....you can even use it to pop the question! If you would like us to customize your cake with a message....just give us a little advanced warning and we'll be happy to do that for you free of charge.
CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES
Red velvet champagne truffles, the ultimate in chocolaty decadence.  These are not for the light hearted and are bitter-sweet cocoa covering, a la francaise!  These are presented in a little box of six with hearts on each truffle.
HEART COOKIES
Little pieces of love, these heart shaped cookies are sandwiched with buttercream and packaged, two at a time in a little clear bag and tied with a pink ribbon.

Baby Cake and Cookies

Once again I have had the privilege of making both the wedding cake and two years later the baby shower cake!
Since the parents have chosen to not know the sex of the baby yet, the proud grandmother chose pastel colours for the shower cake.
We made matching cookies in pastel shades as favours for this event.

Christmas Cookies

We couldn't find the frankincense and myrrh but one thing we did use a lot of this year was gold!
Here are our hand decorated Christmas cookies painted with 24k gold dust, all pretty and dressed up in their silver and diamond cake stand, how festive is that?
Don't forget to order your valentine cookies very, very early!
Although we don't do many cookies for 'chance sale' we do have lots of cookie orders and request that we get them well in advance, these little babies take hours to decorate!

Blossoms

Any English people reading that will know these as "Iced Gems".  When I was a child my grandmother would buy my brother and I bags of iced gems, a tiny cookie little bigger than a dime with a star of coloured royal icing on the top.
They looked nothing like a gem, they were usually pastel shades and the cookie was made of the driest most uninteresting recipe in the world.  But still we loved these little gems, with most kids eating the star off first then having the boring cookie part with milk.
We have re-created the gem but used butter cookie dough cut into the shape of a flower with pink and white royal icing stars on the top.  Now we're debating which is the best bit, the star or the cookie.  What do you think?

Available in bags of 12 or assorted gift boxes.

Coconut Macaroons

Ideally we'd like to eat all of these ourselves, but we have to share with you!
These delicous, moist coconut macaroons are a big hit with coconut lovers.  Full of flavour, sticky, chewy and yummy, what more can we say?
If you try them once, you're hooked!

Sold separately or in bags of 12 ideal for gift giving.

The Cookies Have Arrived!

At last the moment you've all been waiting for Let Them Eat Cookies!

Here's the batch baking away in my new oven!  These butter cookies will be a real crowd pleaser for sure, crisp, light and very buttery as their name suggests.

So, I hear you ask, what are you going to do with them?  Well, here's a picture of them looking all pretty and good enough to eat as well as some that are wrapped and tied with a soft ivory organza bow.

Our cookies are royal iced with an 'old fashioned' technique, would you expect any less from us?  Then they were decorated with royal icing roses, gold pearls and a little purple blossom and finished with some sage green leaves.  The cost per cookie is $4 (plus HST).  If you buy six or more unwrapped cookies (in a box) there is no tax, if you buy individually wrapped cookies (no matter how many) there is tax on these.
