Vintage Bird Cage - Theatre, Hamilton

This cake was designed for a beautiful vintage wedding.  The bronzed bars were finished with strings of white glistening pearls with hand made red roses and leaves. We added some little feathered birds for a close up shot (optional).
Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Teddy Bear

A cute little teddy bear cake for one of our regular cupcake client's young nephew.
Even the teddy bear is all edible!

Jacana Monkey

This cake was inspired by the baby's bed linen for this first birthday cake.  The task was not the easiest since I was working with photographs.
This is our Jacana monkey cake!

25th Birthday

It's always lots of fun when a man calls our store and says "I want something for my girlfriend" much of the time they don't really know what their girlfriend might like or what colours and style would please them.  This client however knew exactly what he wanted, chocolate brown with orange flowers and white bows and a number 25 on the top....guess what?  That's exactly what he got!
On leaving he said "you'll be seeing me again very soon" hmmmm...I wonder what the birthday girl is getting for her birthday?

Chocoalate Boxes - Water Street Cooker, Burlington

This all chocolate cake was the bride's dream and what the bride wants, is what the bride gets!
The chocolate fudge cake was filled with rich chocolate ganache and covered with more ganache and finally chocolate fondant and tied with a chocolate ribbon.  All the little gold pearls were hand painted with 24kt gold and the bow brushed with a gold pearl finish to make it shine.  All the quilting effect is done by hand with painstaking attention to detail.

Design Inspirations

Sometimes we get inspiration from wedding invitations.  This cake was just such a design.  Taken from the wedding design elements which included a beautiful blue scrollwork on the invitations with blossoms and branches for a Toronto Art Gallery wedding.

This picture appears in my files and on my screen as being upright, I've tried and tried but it always appears on here as horizontal...so sorry it's also out of focus.  What I was trying to do here was show another example of how a wedding cake can be matched to an invitation.  It's always a great way of getting design inspiration and we always ask couples to bring their invitation with them to consultations.

Vintage Style - Burlington Golf and Country Club

This bride chose to use her parents wedding cake topper for her cake. We took the detail from the wedding invitations for the pattern on the front then added the topper.

Hand made three colour chocolate leaves on a caramel and old gold stippled cake. This design evokes the warm caramel and chocolate flavours so welcome in the autumn months.
