Bermuda Blue Wedding Cake - Ancaster Old Mill

When Rick and Judy first came to see me, they had very specific ideas about the theme and colour for their wedding cake.  Bermuda blue was their colour and shells and roses was the chosen theme.
Since a square cake (their initial idea) yields so many cake portions (their guest list wasn't that big) I suggested that they use a hexagonal cake pan, giving the yield of a round cake, but the angles of a square cake.  They loved the idea.
The shells were made of chocolate whilst the roses, orchids and blossoms ere made from sugar.  The flowers were dusted with colour and the shells dusted with iridescent shades of pink and blue tones.

After the wedding Rick wrote:

"Lynne,
Judy and I have returned from our fabulous Honeymoon and I wanted to let you know that the cake was absolutely the most beautiful edible art I have ever seen!
Our family and friends were impressed by not only the detail and workmanship, but by the great taste!  Thank you for making a special contribution to our big day. We will
cherish the photos of the cake forever.  AND, we still have the top section to enjoy during a summer Bar-B-Q.  A number of our guests have children with weddings in the future and
they are now aware of you, your work and your website.est wishes,
Rick"
