This was a very colourful spring cake with pink, yellow and purple roses with bright, fresh green leaves. The cake itself was studded with tiny Swiss dots giving it a soft lacy feel.
Unfortunately there was a purple light shining on the curtain in the background which, for the wedding itself I'm sure looked wonderful, but for the purposes of my photography it made it look like the picture was taken in an alien rocket ship and the whole cake was a strange purple colour!
Thus, I decided to try my hand at "Sepia".
When the bride to be came for her consultation she was so beautifully organized, with a palette of tiny swatches, a picture of her dress, bridesmaids dresses and even a picture of her beautiful engagement ring just in case there was something inspiring to be found to design the cake with.
It's always so helpful to have lots of information about the wedding itself so that the cake matches perfectly the wedding decor, theme and style.
After the wedding the bride's mother wrote:
"Hi Lynne,
It has been a busy three weeks since Heather and Matthew's wedding! I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the absolutely gorgeous wedding cake that you created. When we arrived a few minutes earlier than the guests, it was a thrill to see the hall fully decorated with the cake adding the finishing touch to the decor. It complemented the bridal party colors beautifully and many pictures have come our way from guests - obviously it was a hit with them too! Of course, the cake itself was delicious as was the blueberry and cream cheese filling. We are looking forward to our 25th in a few months, when I know we will enjoy your talents again! endy"
