This wedding cake was covered in white chocolate fondant, a tastier (and a little more expensive) covering which is ivory in colour. The bride chose white calla lilies and blossoms as well as lots of white pearlized detail for this cake and a silver monogram on the bottom tier.
The bride also chose cake charms for her bridesmaids. This old fashioned tradition dates to over a century. Small charms were baked into the wedding cake that were for the wedding party. The charms were supposed to tell your fortune. Love, babies, travel, money, happiness, or an unexpected encounter could all await the lucky bridesmaids!
In later years ribbons were added to these tiny silver keepsakes so that no one would lose a tooth! The bridesmaids simply pull a ribbon and out pops a small silver good luck symbol.

Unfortunately, I only got to eat a sliver of it but what I tasted was magical. I will be sure to send you a picture of Curt and I cutting the cake. Thanks for helping to make our wedding special. Kristin"
