It's been a hectic year here at Let Them Eat Cakes and it's only April! Notoriously the winter months are quite calm, there are far less weddings in the January to April window. This year we were heavily involved in the administration of the Canadian Cake Decorators Guild which, although it has been running for more than two years now, saw an upsurge in members taking it from 25 or so active members to 400 in the space of three months!
To take a look into the guild please visit www.canadiancakedecorators.com where you will see some of the worlds most renown cake decorators as members as well as sponsorships from some of the most prestigious cake decorating equipment suppliers and schools.
So this has kept me, and everyone else here at Let Them Eat Cakes, very busy indeed.
Of course, we have continued with our monthly cake tasting events and networking with other local wedding vendors to provide our clients with regular mini bridal shows, an opportunity to taste our cakes, see them close up and chat with the other vendors and benefit from special prices and services offered.
Meanwhile, we've been training hard and gearing up for the 2010 wedding season which hit relatively early this year with quite a few weddings and a filming for Rich Bride Poor Bride and three newspaper articles about us.
Now, when I say "we've been busy" I really mean busy!
