We are sometimes asked to copy a cake found in a magazine. Sometimes, as in the case of this particular design it's lots of fun, challenging and a most definite learning curve. This cake was designed by New York designer Ron Ben Israel (who designed Carrie's wedding cake in Sex In The City) and was featured in a Martha Stewart Weddings magazine (pictured below, right).
When Ellen came to see me and asked me to replicate this cake I was sincerely honoured to do so. This design matched perfectly Ellen's theme and colour scheme of ivory and white.I was delighted to receive an e-mail from Ellen on Sunday morning:
"Hi Lynne,
This is just a quick informal note to say thank you sooooooo much for the cake. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! You did an amazing job - we both loved it.
