When this client came to take a look at our cakes, she explained that she and her husband had got married, 15 years earlier, they had eloped. They had never had a wedding cake nor any of the pomp and ceremony of a traditional wedding, so now, 15 years later, they had decided to have the celebration they'd missed.
The "Love Is" cartoons by Kim were very dear to this 'bride' and she specifically wanted a topper to match this theme. However, these are impossible to find, save may be the odd vintage topper which would be impossible to find at short notice.
We managed to find a suitable image which we printed with an edible image printer and stuck it to sugar paste to form the topper which we dried so that it would stand up nicely.
The bow pictured here was made of chocolate and finished with an edible brooch painted with real silver dust (also edible). The couple were ecstatic when they came to pick up the cake "much better than we'd even imagined" they said. Always wonderful to hear!
