Silver Wedding Anniversary

This client, for whom we made her daughter's wedding cake some months ago, ordered her silver wedding anniversary cake.
To her consultation she brought the original wedding album filled with all sorts of memorabilia such as swatches of cloth from the bridesmaids dresses (that her mother had made) as well as the wedding dress, pieces of the original bouquet and so much more. It was fun getting to know the bride and groom as they were 25 years ago.
Alas, the only cake picture wasn't clear enough to copy, but at least we could piece together some of the elements such as forget me nots, hearts, lace and lots and lots of ribbons in three basic blue tones.
On the top of the cake (you can't really see it in this picture) is a small plaque with the couples initials in silver that are entwined, the wedding date is piped either side of the initials and tiny forget me nots finish the edges.

"We have just returned from a weekend get-a-way in celebration of our 25th anniversary. I just wanted to send you a great big THANK YOU for the amazing cake you created for us.
When I first met with you to discuss the details of the cake, your attention to detail and our resulting conversation about my memories from the wedding day made me confident that the cake would truly be one-of-a-kind.
When we arrived to pick up the cake, we were thrilled to see how you encorporated the details from our wedding day into our celebration cake! You had encorporated several elements from my wedding gown which included a lace like pattern, the blue bows (which even looked like the gros grain ribbon used!), and the heart shape neckline from my wedding gown. The sweet forget-me-nots from my boquet and the small hearts adorning the sides were a perfect match to the shades of blue used in our bridal party. Of course, to finish it all off, the medallion which used some unique elements to our celebration - included our initials entwined and the year we were married embossed in a silver finish for our silver anniversary!
The servers at the hall were most impressed with the creativity you had put into our cake and were reluctant to cut into it as they felt it was too beautiful a cake to take apart. Of course the cake itself was tasty and was quickly enjoyed by many of our guests. Fortunately, there is a piece left for Stephen and I to enjoy!
Thanks again Lynne - we look forward to other opportunities to enjoy your cake creative talent!"
