This engagement cake is for a couple who got engaged whilst cycling somewhere in the desert amongst the sand and cacti at night!
The whole cake design was dreamed up to conjure, somehow, the ambiance of the magic moment.
The bottom cake was sponged with gold coloured dust and the top tier was sponged with blue, navy and black dust. Small yellow stars were placed around the sky part of the cake with edible twinkle sprinkled in the sky. Sugar stars were placed on wires which come out of the top of the cake and sugar cacti were added. We then placed spoonfuls of golden 'sand' (soft brown sugar) to represent the sand and finish the effect.
