Who said navy blue was too modern and looks nautical? Ah yes, that was me, until I fixed myself the challenge of creating a cake that was neither modern looking or remotely nautical but was very definitely navy blue!
With pearls, lace and a cherub cameo, this cake is anything but what you'd think a cake with so much navy blue on it would look like. We used a rich sapphire blue with a pearlized sheen and hand painted the whole cake. We finished with a navy blue satin ribbon and displayed it on a fine, bright white hand made Lou Hanson cake stand.
